I've always admired street photography, and the influence of its masters will always be present in my work. My approach leaned on an 85mm lens, giving me enough distance to avoid imposing on subjects and the moment, while still delivering the compression and shallow depth of field I love. For a few years, I shot weekly with a friend who has since left Vancouver, so many of these images speak to a specific time and place. Through highs and lows in productivity, I've never fully stepped away from this genre.
